    Chapter 14

Noah knelt carefully before Gu Taeheon’s feet, who was sitting on a public bench. Or rather, he tried to—he needed to roll up Taeheon’s pant leg to channel his healing energy into the injury.

However, Taeheon stopped him. Instead, he grabbed Noah’s wrist and glanced around. Luckily, the restroom on this floor wasn’t busy, so no one was nearby.

    “Come on.”
    “Where to, sir?”
    “…The restroom.”

Noah followed Taeheon awkwardly toward the restroom. As they approached, he noticed the symbol “α” above the door, along with others marked “β” and “Ω.”

    “Follow me.”

Taeheon kept scanning the surroundings as he guided Noah into the restroom for alphas. They passed the line of urinals and entered one of the toilet stalls separated by partitions. Naturally, Noah followed him inside.

The stall was barely large enough for one person, so with Taeheon’s 190-centimeter frame and Noah’s slightly shorter build, it felt unbearably cramped. Noah pressed himself against the wall to avoid touching Taeheon as much as possible.

    “Noah, sit here.”

Once again, Taeheon called him by name. He closed the toilet lid and lightly pressed on it, motioning for Noah to sit. Then he stood directly in front of him.

Only then did Taeheon begin rolling up his pant leg. After folding it up several times, his shin was revealed—lined with scars from past surgeries. He extended it toward Noah.

“Ah, it’ll be easier this way.”

Noah seemed pleased that Taeheon presented his leg so directly. He spread his knees slightly, making room for Taeheon to rest his foot between them. Naturally, Taeheon set his leg there.

Then, suddenly, Taeheon realized—this position felt strangely awkward.

Yet Noah, utterly unaware, only gazed at his leg with pure, innocent eyes. Soon, Noah raised a white hand and gently caressed Taeheon’s shin. A white glow began to rise from his fingertips.

    “Ugh!”

Taeheon barely stifled a groan that almost broke free, forcing it down into his throat. He looked at his leg in disbelief—specifically, at Noah’s glowing hand.

Something was different. Entirely different from before. Last time, it had merely been a soft, warm sensation, but now an almost euphoric rush of pleasure surged through his body, sharp and sudden enough to make his head reel.

So—that explained it. That was why Nam Jinwoo had babbled about how “electric” it felt. Noah’s healing had completely changed since the first time. Taeheon clenched his jaw, biting hard on his lower lip to suppress the sound threatening to escape.

    “Does it hurt?”
    “…Ha.”

He couldn’t even answer properly. If he tried, only something indecent might escape. Crimson veins pulsed in his eyes as he struggled to hold back the tide of sensation.

    Click.
“Hey. Where are you? I’m in the Alpha restroom on the 4th floor.”

Someone had entered. Both men froze instantly.

“Yeah, what? Seriously? You think that’s okay?”

The voice outside sounded like only one person, talking on the phone.

Noah decided to ignore it and resume the healing—but Taeheon stopped him abruptly, his face flushed red all the way to his neck. He grabbed Noah’s hand, halting his movement. When Noah opened his mouth to ask why, Taeheon clamped his other hand firmly over Noah’s lips.

    “Mmff.”

The tiny sound vanished into the thick silence that filled the stall. The man outside must have sensed someone else’s presence.

Taeheon’s heart hammered violently against his ribs as he whispered soundlessly to Noah:

    Stay quiet.

Noah nodded obediently. Still, Taeheon remained tense. Two men hiding together in a locked stall of the alpha restroom—it was a situation begging for misunderstanding.

“No, it’s fine. I’ll come to you. Yeah, wait there.”

The sound of running water followed. The stranger was washing his hands. Meanwhile, Noah sat pinned in place—his hand still held tightly and his mouth covered—blinking up at Taeheon. His golden eyes drifted upward to the man’s neck, just an arm’s length away.

Years of physical training had carved Taeheon’s throat muscles thick and strong, the veins rising slightly under his skin. A bead of sweat slid down along that line, glinting faintly—it struck Noah suddenly as strangely intimate.

“Okay, I’ll see you later for dinner—”

    Click.

The door closed. The man was gone. Taeheon released his hand from Noah’s mouth at once. Noah exhaled deeply, finally able to breathe freely again.

    “Haaah…”
“Sorry… must’ve been hard to breathe.”
“It’s fine. This place is meant for one person anyway, isn’t it? That’s why you hid.”

Not quite the truth Taeheon had imagined, but close enough. Noah smiled slightly, as if he understood everything. Then he placed his glowing hand back onto Taeheon’s leg.

They stayed like that—pressed close together in the narrow stall—for a long time, until Noah’s healing energy finally burned out. As the light faded from his hands, he called softly,
    “Mr. Taeheon.”
    “…”
    “Mr. Taeheon?”

There was no response. Tilting his head, Noah looked up to find Taeheon staring down at him, face flushed to the very tips of his ears. He blinked rapidly, coming back to himself.

    “Ah—uh, yeah.”
“How do you feel? Better than before?”
    “What?”

Taeheon glanced down in disbelief at his leg. Better?

He pulled down his pant leg and stepped out of the stall, testing his movement. He raised and lowered his leg, observing carefully—then realization struck.

    “Wait… it doesn’t hurt.”
“Well, of course. I healed it.”
“No—I mean, I can bend it, stretch it, and it still doesn’t—”

Before, even the smallest movement had sent shocks of pain shooting through his body. Now, not only was the ache from overexertion gone, but the sharp sting from flexing was completely absent. All that had taken was perhaps twenty minutes of Noah’s touch.

    “It doesn’t hurt at all.”
    “I’m glad to hear that.”
“…I could probably do judo again.”

At the quiet murmur, Noah’s expression turned faintly concerned.
“Forgive me, but… what kind of exercise is ‘judo’? If it’s strenuous, perhaps you should refrain for now. I’d need to see what it is first before deciding…”
“Oh yeah? Then let’s go to the gym right now.”

Taeheon’s voice had risen with excitement. He hadn’t stepped into a dojo since the accident—but now, he felt as though he could do anything.

“That would be fine, but Mr. Taeheon—it’s six o’clock now, isn’t it?”
    “Yeah. So what?”
“Well, you promised to meet Mr. Nam Jinwoo at six thirty.”

Noah’s long eyelashes fluttered as he looked up at him. The only reason they’d come out today was because Nam Jinwoo had half-forced Taeheon to join him for dinner. Taeheon clicked his tongue, disappointment written all over his face.

Noah could tell exactly who he was disappointed for. He smiled gently.
“You can show me later, after dinner. Aren’t you hungry?”
“Yeah. Starving. Let’s go—Jinwoo’s paying anyway.”

For the first time in what felt like ages, real energy filled Taeheon’s voice. Anyone who knew him would have remarked how long it had been since they’d seen that look on his face. His steps were strong and sure—no different now from any ordinary person.

    “Um, Mr. Taeheon.”
    “What is it?”
“While we’re walking… may I take this hat off now? It blocks my view a little.”

Noah fidgeted restlessly, wanting to remove the cap. But remembering that Taeheon had bought it for him—and had sternly warned him not to take it off—he didn’t dare remove it without permission.

Taeheon stopped walking and turned toward him. When Noah looked up, puzzled, the man spoke quietly.
    “No.”
    “Uh—why not?”
    “Because you’re… beautiful.”

One of Taeheon’s eyes, barely visible above his mask, narrowed faintly. Tilting his head, he reached out without thinking and cupped Noah’s cheek. As he tucked stray strands of greenish hair—like spring leaves—back under the cap, he muttered,

    “They all stare at you.”
