[Team] JiniHaniJihani (Jacqueline): Support, just protect the ADC. ADC, only focus on those who dive the tank. I’ll handle the enemy melee.
This fight over Gor’nil would be the last teamfight.
Jacqueline, Ji-han’s champion, had hit max level and bought the final defensive item. He prayed his teammates had actually absorbed the passionate lecture he’d given earlier and would act proactively this time as he moved along his path.
It began with a clash between the enemy main tank and Ji-han’s allied sub-tank. Since the sub-tank was tenaciously harassing their ADC, the enemy team must’ve called for the main tank to cover.
In terms of matchup, Ji-han’s sub-tank held the advantage. But the enemy support landed the opening initiation, binding Ji-han’s sub-tank first, and before anything could be done, the sub-tank was knocked to the ground. Using an immediate stand-up skill, the sub-tank tried to abandon the main tank and charge into the enemy backline, but the enemy main tank clung to him, swinging annoying jabs like a leech.
To break the sub-tank through the enemy line, Ji-han’s main tank engaged their main tank. Just then, the allied ADC began focusing the enemy main tank, as instructed. Meanwhile, the vision ward the support had planted earlier revealed the enemy ADC circling around.
If not for that ward, their backline ADC would’ve been shredded first, turning the game hopeless.
Recalling the lineup of sub-tank, ADC, and support moving together, Ji-han shifted behind the enemy ADC. If he wasn’t in mid where the tanks clashed, nor in the adjacent lane, then there was only one thing a melee like him would be doing.
Ding! Ding!
JiniHaniJihani has signaled to attack.
JiniHaniJihani has signaled that Sains is alive.
He was telling his team: I’m going to assassinate the melee, so ignore me and focus on the teamfight.
Jacqueline froze at the shortcut exit, listening intently. Amid the distant clash of battle, faint footsteps—rapid, sharp, the click of boots—drew near.
Calculating the timing, Ji-han slowly aimed at the exit.
Jacqueline: Your breath is mine.
A black blade flew. With a sound like shattering glass, a stun marker appeared above the melee’s head. Jacqueline leapt into the air. Cloaked in invisibility midair, she reappeared only when landing before her target.
Spinning blades tore into the melee. Ji-han’s combo was fluid and fast, his hands experienced. Even Jacqueline’s clunky skill links were polished through his aim manipulation, forcing bleed procs with precise misses. Jacqueline’s infamously unreliable ultimate, if it connected, guaranteed a five-second stun—and before that time was up, the fragile melee melted away.
JiniHaniJihani has slain an enemy.
[All] JellyUnderToeBeans (Sains): God, this is bullshit;; smurfing and lucky hits, this game is unplayable.
On the minimap, the allied ADC’s HP had halved, the support barely hanging on. In that brief span, they’d been pummeled.
An ally has fallen.
IWantToWin has slain an enemy.
The support had died, but the allied ADC took down the enemy ADC in return. That was profit enough.
Rejoining the fight, Ji-han and the ADC whittled down the enemy tank, leaving it at 30% before handing the finish to the ADC. Ji-han turned to take over the enemy support from the sub-tank.
Even with a botched combo from the sub-tank, the fight was—by far—the smoothest game of the day.
WIN!
JiniHaniJihani (Jacqueline) / 11 kills 2 deaths 4 assists / 61.9k damage dealt / 6.4k damage taken / 4 commendations / MVP
[Team] Anaksunamoon (Pierre): Thank you for the Jacqueline bus… sorry for not listening earlier.
[Team] IWantToWin (Yuzi): GGsㅎㅎ
If he killed the melee, MVP was inevitable. But that was all.
“Just rage without fun.”
Back in the lobby, Ji-han sighed and canceled auto-queue. It lacked the chewy thrill of the top ranks.
No matter what he did, it was smurfing. And he was no teacher. To teach properly, he’d need voice comms, but if anyone heard his voice and recognized him, it’d be over.
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: Nice Jacqueline carryㅎㅎㅎㅎ You around?
Watched me? Did this creep spectate my match?
Ji-han reluctantly pulled up MondaytoSunday’s match history. Platinum 2, last season Gold, tank main. Not many games, with the last match three days ago. And there, in one record, was JiniHaniJihani’s name.
Ah. The net-throwing lunatic Juno. Now he remembered.
Annoying, sure, with his little net spam and emotes, but compared to AkashaPhilban, he wasn’t so bad. Maybe even tolerable.
So, uncharacteristically, Ji-han replied.
[Whisper] To MondaytoSunday: gtfo
Then he used the megaphone.
[Server] JiniHaniJihani (1CH): Buying fox tails. Whisper or mail.
He was still ten short for even slotting them into his melee loadout. Supply was abysmal.
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: If you’ll just listen to me
Ugh, this pest. Ji-han was about to type “/block MondaytoSunday” when—
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: I’ll give you one fox tail for freeㅎㅎㅎ
[Whisper] To MondaytoSunday: Yeah, fine. Speak.
Should’ve said that first. He nearly passed up a rare tail.
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: You interested in Territory Wars?
Interested? Hell yes. That’s why he was grinding so hard—to get into a proper guild.
[Whisper] To MondaytoSunday: ?
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: We’ve gotta protect our territory, so we’re recruiting. Wondering if you’d joinㅎㅎ
A scout invite. But… fishy. If this guy could scout for a guild, he must be an officer. But a Plat 2 with few games holding rank in a guild? Probably some ragtag crew.
Still, it was about time he joined a guild for keys. He could always switch later, though that risked a public shaming. Unlike flaming trolls, betraying a guild was taken seriously.
[Whisper] To MondaytoSunday: Which guild?
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: Cheongpadongㅎㅎㅎ If you join, we’ll be exactly 40.
What? Cheongpadong? The number one Territory guild?
A quick search confirmed it.
- Cheongpadong / 18,990 pts / Territories: Soul Valley, Juno Fortress / Guildmaster: Noct7 / Members: 39/50
Unexpected, but jackpot. With guilds springing up everywhere, Cheongpadong still held #1. That meant they were the real deal.
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: We’ve got no strict rules. Just show up for Territory Wars, that’s it. Don’t care about login rates, no mandatory greetings, everyone’s adults.
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: No duo obligations either. The way you play, guild points’ll rack up on their own. You literally don’t need to do anything.
Too good to refuse. No cliquey politics, no power-tripping officers, not even mandatory greetings? Unheard of.
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: Only one thing—we’ve got a group chat for Territory Wars. Just join it. You can even mute during war, someone else calls the shots.
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: Sometimes members do friendlies, but that’s optional.
This was perfect. He’d worried about voice comms for wars, but just listening was fine. A rare stroke of luck.
[Whisper] To MondaytoSunday: Tail first.
Ding!
His mailbox gleamed with nine fox tails—the real deal. Ugly, jaundiced yellow fur, maybe botched dye or just bad RNG, but nothing a cash-shop dye couldn’t fix.
Trust, at least, was established.
[Whisper] To MondaytoSunday: Invite.
[Whisper] MondaytoSunday: One sec, switching char.
MondaytoSunday has invited JiniHaniJihani to the guild ‘Cheongpadong.’
Do you accept?
Warning: Leaving within one week is impossible.
A warning born from griefers who stalked players via guilds, but it flashed red and bright.
Why hesitate? The faster he collected keys, the better. Ji-han hit accept.
Below his name, appeared, tails swaying proudly.
Guild: JiniHaniJihani has joined the guild.
And then—
[Guild] AkashaPhilban: ?
Oh, fuck. Of all people.
